Living in Goa, I think about this everyday. Many people do, but we have little choice. Goa for one, imports most of the vegetables and other food harvests from Karnataka and Maharashtra. We knows that most of the crops have lots of pesticides on them, but we can not imagine what all must be on those fruits and veggies.

Thos crops are hybrids, the taste of the vegetables for example has been going down. I see tomatoes which dont have any seeds inside! they dont even smell like tomatoes.

There are people who try to grow their own stuff but it is difficult. Take potatoes for example. It isimpossible nearly to grow your own potatoes. Insects here are very strong and they get resistent against any type of pesticide. This is a major problem!!

We are forced to buy from the market! Over the past 5 years we have seen lots of vendors from other Indian states in Goa. They come with truck loads of vegetables to the markets early mornings. 50% of those veggies are wasted and thrown out, because nobody ever suceeds in selling those. The vendor still makes an enormous amount of money of the sold, because they buy the vegetables dirt cheap and resell them at crazy prices for an economy and country such as india.

Monoculture, as mentioned above, is another missmanagment of this corrupt country.

It is a disgusting business and the people are all paying for this with their lives!
