Fear Is Not Our Own - A Poem by M.N. Hopkins

Even though our bodies

Are of the Earth and know fear

Fear is not our own

This is the first haiku poem I have ever enjoyed. Nice work!

Nice poem!
I dont exactly understand the meaning of the second line but I like it anyhow.

I believe that one in these days can feel the fear just of the fact of the mass confusion in this society that follows from certain events or just a confused human collective mind and one can choose to realise this is not ones own fear and stay in peace or be ignorant and become a part of it.

I dont know how many days and weeks I have spent with "negative" emotions hanging over me, whether it is anger, fear or depression. But somehow I came to a point that I started to get so sick and tired of it and began analyse it - when did it start, where did it come from etc. - and so many times I have come to the inner insight "this emotional vibration is not mine" and I could also sometimes feel from when and who or which event this emotion came from and in the same moment these realisations occured the negative energy just started vanish out in the air without effort, even though I have tried to "fight" the feeling for days.

So I truly believe we should be aware and alert of what kind of emotions we are walking around "feeling"!
(But perhaps this was not completely the meaning of your poem?)

Kindest regards
Magnus
